Commitment to Sustainability

As part of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA), we proudly support the National Initiative of Soorya Bala Sangramaya (Battle for Solar Energy). Launched in 2016 by the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy in collaboration with SLSEA, the Ceylon Electricity Board, and the Lanka Electricity Company, this initiative empowers consumers with three innovative options to generate and utilize solar electricity in their households.

Net Metering Scheme

Net metering lets solar owners earn credits for excess energy supplied to the grid, with monthly bills based on net electricity usage. Unused credits can be carried forward for up to 10 years, but no payments are made for surplus energy.

Net Accounting Scheme

Excess solar energy is purchased by the Utility Provider at Rs. 22.00 per unit for the first 7 years and Rs. 15.50 per unit thereafter. If consumption exceeds generation, the consumer pays the difference at the prevailing tariff.

Net Plus Scheme

This system compensates for solar power generated, with separate meters for import and export. Customers pay for consumed electricity at the current tariff, while the Utility Provider buys the generated power. As a registered Solar PV provider, we handle installation, testing, and grid connection, adhering to SLSEA, CEB, LECO, and SLSI 1522 standards for quality.

Net Plus Plus

The Net Plus Plus scheme allows prosumers to install Solar PV systems beyond their contract demand, utilizing unused rooftop space to generate excess power for the grid. Separate wiring is required, and the scheme supports roof rental or aggregator models, enabling investors to enter agreements with the utility under similar interconnection and payment structures.

How much can you save on your electricity bill?

A properly sized solar system can cover all your energy needs, achieving 100% savings. Key factors include system size, battery storage, net metering, and sunlight availability. Battery storage lets you use excess energy at night, while net metering allows you to sell surplus power. Even in less sunny areas, larger or more efficient systems can provide energy independence and eliminate electricity bills.

How much can you earn from selling excess power?

Earnings from selling excess solar power depend on the utility’s compensation system. Net Metering credits your bill for surplus energy sent to the grid. Net Accounting allows credits to accumulate for future use. Net Plus offers a higher compensation rate than Net Accounting but lower than Net Metering. Earnings vary based on the system and local utility agreements.
